| Enclosures come in many different sizes to house your pet reptile. A standard 10 gallon aquarium is great for small frogs or a single small lizard. While a tall aquarium would be suited for aboreal reptiles. Custom made enclosures are sometimes needed for extra large reptiles such as monitors or large boas and pythons. |
| Certain basic needs must be met no matter what type of pet reptile you may have. These basic needs are fresh de-chlorinated water, a well ventilated enclosure, hiding structures and basking branches. They must also be kept in the appropriate temperature range, and have proper lighting for calcium absorption. | Feed your pet the correct type of foods. Reptiles may be vegetarians, insectivores or omnivores. While some reptiles will only eat small mammals. Whatever type of food your reptile eats make sure it is the right size and quantity. Also use a vitamin supplement on their food to ensure proper nutrition is obtained. |
| Make sure your pet's home is kept clean. Clean up solid waste daily. Reptile carpet should be washed often. Natural bedding products should be changed at least monthly more often if it becomes soiled. |
